Enzo’s 3rd Birthday Party Preparation - I
by Lorelei on Oct.24, 2009, under !Enzo, blogging
Finally, I’ve been able to work on Enzo’s 3rd birthday party invites! It’s 2 weeks before the party and honestly not much have been done. I have this back pain that’s been going for more than a week now. I dunno, stress maybe? But, from what!?
Oh, checklist! Checklist!
- Cake - still contacting Iyah for the cake.
- Souvenirs - ?
- Lootbags - still incomplete
- Balloons - ?
- Invitations - for printing & distribution; emailed to some friends already
- Photographer - ?
- Food/Beverage - reserved already
Anyway, last week I was in Divisoria with my best-friend and struggling with such a lot of people shopping around for the Christmas season (I think), to find some items for Enzo’s new theme- Batman. Didn’t know it’s gonna be such a stressful day. Imagine hopping from 1 mall to another to find Batman goodies that doesn’t seem to exist nowadays? Argghhh.. If I’ve enough budget, I’d settle for SM, you know.. I was even gonna change the theme just because of that! Oh well.. after hours and hours spent of looking around, we found some items and it was really great.. No! It was actually a relief.. So, I guess it’s still Batman!
Baby Got Back

After a few weeks of non-existence (hehe), I am now back at my original pace..
Been sick for a while.. got a sty in my right eye. I think I was able to share it somehow. But, I’m ok now.
Took care of sick little Enzo too.. He was soooo sick again from Feb.10 to atleast a week after that.. His temperature reached 40° Celsius.. On and Off fever during days and nights. We had to rushed him at the nearest hospital’s ER too.. The verdict after he’s been discharge and tested was a bacterial infection.. But then again during that time we can’t be certain because we’ve seen signs and symptoms of Kawasaki Disease on him. And honestly, I am still into these thoughts. Enzo’s hands and feet started to peel off in large pieces, just last week. It is yet another sign of the disease, which according to my research can’t be prevented….. Well, Enzo’s doing great now! And, I am happy! Very thankful to God that he’s a happy baby boy again!
I miss writing in my so-called blog (hehe). Though I am not a good blogger, I love sharing things here. Sometimes, I am relieved when I write about things that I can’t really talk about in person. Of course, I have friends, but sometimes a stranger can give you a totally good opinion about what you’re experiencing.

Best Remedy For Fever
by
Lorelei on Jan.22, 2009, under !Enzo, Do-It-Yourself, Health Matters, Health and Personal Care, Personal, blogging
Because Enzo had a high fever for two days, I decided to do some research on what options do i have in lowering a high temperature. Of course, there are things which are very well known to us like taking medicines, drinking lots of water, plenty of rest and using cold towels as a fast-acting remedy to fever. But do you know that aside from TLC (tender loving and care).. Egg Whites by far is the best remedy in lowering a high temperature?
Chapped Lips on Toddlers

I noticed that Enzo (my 2-year old son) has chapped lips. Well, it’s still cold lately and it’s no surprised that he’s having it. But what can I do? What kind of lip cream/ointment should I use on him? Is vaseline a safe choice? Or is there another option?

Taking Care of Little Ones

As I was reading an article of I am That Mom!. I begin to wonder what kind of mom I am.
I have been only a mom for 2 years and honestly, I am a bit panicky when it comes to Enzo. For me, he’s so fragile even if he thinks he’s old enough to play around the house all by himself. I don’t want him to be alone because something might happen to him–he might fall down or cut himself while playing.. I don’t know..
There’s this one time when hubby told me about Enzo holding our kitchen knife.. goodness! How did he get that knife!? It’s like I’m gonna explode or something. It’s like killing me inside learning that Enzo were able to get that knife on top of the kitchen sink. I freaked out even if I didn’t see the whole thing happened.. (continue reading…)
Enzo’s 2nd Birthday Party (for kids)

It’s been a week since Enzo’s birthday party. After weeks of rushed birthday preparations, we’re able to pull it off. Everything went well though it wasn’t a perfect one.
FUN.. this is how I’ll describe it!
On Enzo’s big day, we woke up as early as possible to get things done.. I started blowing up the balloons.. one by one.. hahaha! I really thought it was going to be easy, unfortunately, I had to use a lot of strength in doing it, then I had to ask hubby to substitute.
By 9AM we headed to the Gaisano Mall to buy some ingredients we thought we already had (tsk. tsk. tsk.), then we rushed at the nearest wet/dry market to buy fresh meat & vegetables for the day’s dishes.
By 10:30AM, I’m a bit panicky because I haven’t finished working on the decorations. And if I were to follow my time table, by that time I should be cooking the spaghetti already.

At long last! Another year for Enzo! Another successful birthday party too!
To all who have been a part of this celebration, we thank you so much! It wouldn’t be a success without your help. Every effort, presence and gifts brought “FUN” to the party. And I personally believe that it is one of the most important thing in every party.
TO……
Papa Ian.. Thank you for spending some time in Enzo’s give aways. For making the DVD contents; For contributing some thoughts while we’re on the preparation stage; And of course, for the financial support.
Enzo’s Tito Bingkoy.. Thank you for being one of the cooks during the event and for running some errands for us.
Enzo’s Ninong Alain.. Thank you for finding out great suppliers, which I never thought would exist in the province and running some errands too.
Enzo’s Tito Alwyn.. Thank you for driving us to Gaisano Mall, dry market & Armands for all our shopping needs. Thanks also for cooking one of the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted! Love it!
Ms. Raquel Odulio.. Thank you for making Enzo’s birthday cake! You’ve such creative hands. The cake tasted so good.
