Farmville or Farmtown?

I know. I know. Facebook is one of those addicting sites right now. I bet you already have your own account. Probably not just one, especially if you’re playing some of their games. =D
OK, so two of those really cool games right now are Farmville and Farmtown.
Just a little introduction for those who are not playing yet, they’re both flash games in Facebook wherein you can plow, plant and harvest. It’s like creating and managing your own farm. You gain experience points as you go along and this is necessary for you to level up. You gain coins too and you use it for buying seeds, farm house, etc. So, basically, it’s farming!
Now, which is better? Hmm.. Let’s see..
Here’s a snapshot of them both:
As you can see, Farmville is kinda cartoonish. But, what I personally like about it is that your animals are useful. They are not made for decorations only– you can milk the cow, collect down feathers from duck, collect truffles from pig, etc. And when you’re plowing, seeding or harvesting, you can do it 4 plots altogether (but you have to have enough fuel for your trucks). Another thing about it is that you can click every object in your farm with your browser hanging or crashing. Though you really have to wait till your farmer finish its job before you can close the browser. Otherwise, what you just did or clicked, it’s not gonna be saved.
Now Farmtown has its own reputation too. Funny co’z I didn’t like this game, but then I thought I’d give it a try since hubby’s playing this one. What I like about Farmtown is how they present its realistic graphics. It looks like a real farm– from the soil, plants, trees, etc. And then, you can hire your friends to plow your farm. This way, both of you could get experience points and less coins to spend on plowing. You can hire someone to harvest your farm too, and this is really nice co’z both of you will have more coins than just you selling what you harvest yourself. And then you can have a river or beach.. depends on how you would like to design your farm.
Now, having said some of the positive things about them, they sure also have some down sides. For instance, Farmville may let you click and click and click on every job you want your farmer to do without crashing your browser, but hey, you really have to wait till he finishes it all or else it’s useless. For Farmtown, it’s actually the “Wait, I’m Busy” message of your farmer when you are trying to give him a new job while he’s doing another one. It’s pretty annoying and it sure is making your farming kinda slow.
So, it’s for you to decide, farmers. Which is which? =D
